“ Although I only get to fly home to New York every 6 months, no doubt I stop in for a delicious home cooked meal. Fantastic classics and the best French toast ever! This place is always jam packed from start to finish. Additionally, they make some darn good egg creams! ”
“ Lexington Candy Shop is all about the ambiance; old school counter stools (which were all marked "Do not use" when we were there), booths, numerous pictures on the walls, and NY attitude. We were there for breakfast and waited in a slow moving line for a table. Service was friendly. Not terribly efficient but friendly. Food was ok, coffee was ok. First time I've ever been served an omelette without potatoes...only option was to order a side of french fries. While waiting for partner to exit had a nice chat with the manager, also very friendly. On the way out a couple from Brooklyn waiting in line asked about our experience. "Its all about the ambiance". If we were to return I would try to get here for lunch and get a float or milkshake. ”
“ An absolutely classics ~100 year old NYC eatery serving up solid food and old fashioned drinks. This place is celebrating their 99th year in business, and it's absolutely an icon. They still serve Coca Cola mixed straight from the syrup with seltzer from the soda fountain, and can top it off with a scoop of ice cream for a float. Order breakfast all day, or try one of their Butter Burgers -- literally a burger with a massive scoop of butter melting on top. Grab a seat at stools at the original counter, or squeeze into a cozy booth. There might be a bit of a line outside, the service is nothing incredible, and the prices are pretty steep, but that's how it is for small old places like this to survive. It's worth the trip for the experience! ”
“ Classic NY diner atmosphere, bustling and casual. We were quick to be seated on a Wednesday afternoon. The Lexington Butter Burger is a must-try! The butter makes the meat so delicious and juicy. We got a jumbo, which was worth the extra dollar. Floats are kind of expensive at $12 but the root beer float was tasty and the ice cream was sweet and very creamy. It could have been colder but i suspect their old fashioned way of making sodas requires ice to be added later. My friend got the cherry coke, which was different than a store bought cherry coke. We suspect they add their own red cherry syrup to their old fashioned coke. ”
